I guess I don't have as much time to "Blog" as I thought I would have when I started this, but I'll try to do this more often.

So my wife decided to put us on this Atkins thing. Now any one that knows me would tel you, as they are laughing their asses off, that I don't diet. But I thought to myself: "Self, let's just try this." I can stand to loose a couple of pounds. So off I go.

What do you mean no sugar? Wait, what? No pasta, potato's or rice? What kind off mental torture did I get myself into.

No, wait, what was that? I'm sure I didn't hear that right! Wait, say that again, no more Ben and Jerry's? Nooooooo! Okay, just breath, stay calm. Let's see where this is going.

So after the initial freak out I calmed down a bit. Five days later, swallowing my sugarless coffee puffing on a Marlboro light (I know mom, quit smoking - It's bad for you!!!) standing in the snow on the back porch thinking, this is not to bad (the coffee I mean). So up to the bathroom we go. I can hear the scale getting ready.

"Come on man not again. I can only take so much and then that's it - just 'cause I'm digital doesn't mean I can hold you fat ass day after day. Please don't do it. No please do..."

"Oh shut up! Its been almost a week! Plenty off time to recover!"

After kicking the scale against the wall a couple times thus shutting it up, I get on. To scared to look. It's kind off like driving past a car wreck - you don't wanna look, but you just can't help yourself. So I open my eyes and look down - 7 pounds less than six days ago!!! WTF!!! That can't be right. Really? This really works? Guess I'll stick with this one. We'll see where this goes. Hope I can make the scale like me again!!!

What is up with this world?

So, last night I was flipping through the channels and came upon an documentary about Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist church in Topeka Kansas. If you have never heard of this so called "man of God" feel free to visit them online. Some of you might agree with what he is trying to sell and some may not.

Look, I do not disagree with the fact that there are man things wrong with this beautifully country. Also with the rest of the world. I have no doubt that God needs to be brought back into our lives. We have kicked God out of everything we do and have and then we blame Him for everything that goes wrong. We have abandoned Him, not the other way around. No wonder this world is circling the drain. The only way to get out of this is by the Grace of God. But, this is not what I wanna talk about.

What I wanna talk about is Fred Phelps. At first I was listening to this man and his followers and I was getting pissed. I mean, what kind of person would picket at the funeral of an American soldier thanking God that he or she is dead. Who could picket saying that "God hates fags". So far as I know, God hates sin, not the sinner. And are we not all sinners. I know that I am. That is when I started feeling sorry for this man. he does not realize what he is doing to himself and his followers. In Matthew 7 Jesus says:

1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?"

James 2 says:

8If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself,"[a] you are doing right. 9But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11For he who said, "Do not commit adultery,"[b] also said, "Do not murder."[c] If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

12Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!

By doing what he's doing he is not only judging others, but is also being prejudice. This man should not be hated. We should not judge him as he judges others. We should pity him, feel sorry for him, because he has no idea what he is doing to himself and his followers.

I feel sorry for you mister Fred Phelps. May God open your eyes to the truth of His word and the mercy of His Son.
